Working together
The
Experience
Photographing a wedding is personal. I will be close to you during moments that cannot be repeated, so it matters that we feel comfortable with each other.
A good working relationship changes more than the experience. It changes the photographs.

A good fit matters
Before anything is signed, I would like us to meet
When your inquiry arrives, I’ll reply with my availability, a personal proposal and a few complete galleries chosen for the kind of celebration you are planning.
Before you decide, I would be very happy to meet online. You can get to know the person who will be beside you, and I can begin to understand how the two of you are together.
I see photography as a collaboration. We talk openly about the people you love, what you have planned and how much direction feels right.
That understanding lets me lead when it is useful and step back when it is not. Once the celebration begins, you should not need to manage the photography.
“Communication with Marina was so easy and flawless. She has a very calming presence.”C & J · Amalfi Coast

Once we decide to work together
We prepare together
Closer to the wedding, we meet again and go through the plans in detail: timing, locations, the people you want close to you and how much direction feels right.
References are always welcome. I will not recreate somebody else’s photographs, but they help me understand what you respond to and how you want your own photographs to feel.
With your planner, I look at the schedule, the light and the time we need for portraits and family photographs. You decide which family groupings matter; together we find a way to make them without letting that part of the day take over.
If I am working at a venue for the first time, I will always try to scout it beforehand.
“She blended seamlessly into the team and captured the vision with little to no direction.”T · Wedding planner
On the day
Direction when it helps
Space when it matters
When we make portraits together, I guide you with movement, posture, hands, angles and light. You will not be left wondering what to do, and you do not need to arrive knowing how to pose.
When the ceremony, speeches, dinner and dancing begin, the approach changes. Nothing needs to be performed for the camera. I watch, anticipate and photograph what is already happening.
Some photographs need a little help. Others need me to stay out of the way.

“They captured every moment and every emotion without imposing on the experience of our day.”J & S · Lake Como
The moments in between
What it felt like to be there
You are at the centre, but I am also watching the room around you.
I look for the moments in between: a glance held for a second longer, an unplanned touch, the small pause before something begins.
These photographs hold more than the way the celebration looked. They are what make the day feel close again.

The team
More than one point of view
Whenever possible, I recommend a second photographer. One of us can stay with you while the other follows the guests, the room or another part of the celebration. It also gives us more freedom to work from different angles and, where permissions and conditions allow, to include drone coverage.
For weddings with more than two hundred guests, or when photographing the guests is especially important to you, I may recommend a larger team.
A larger team does not mean turning the wedding into a production. It simply means we can photograph more of it while you remain fully present.

After the wedding
The whole celebration comes back to you
You will receive a preview within about ten days. The complete gallery will follow within four months.
The final gallery is more than a set of highlights. It holds the portraits we made, the people you love and moments that happened outside your view.
I want it to feel like the day you remember, while showing you parts you never had the chance to see.

Travel
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. I photograph weddings across Europe and travel worldwide. Your location does not need to appear in the portfolio for you to get in touch.
